A2Tech HS Programs:  

AAPS Adult Education ESL:  AAPS Adult Education ESL (English As A Second Language) is a free, 30 week program for non-native adult speakers of English who wish to improve their English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Classes are 90 minutes a day, five days a week. There are three levels - L2, L3 and L4. Students register in person, take a placement test and participate in an oral interview before they are placed in class. Students must present a visa, green card, or social security card at registration and must be at least 18 years old to participate.  Registrations take place in August for Fall Semester and in January for Winter Semester, and classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis.  Call 734-997-1250 or see our website for more information.

Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools (RAHS):  Staffed with University of Michigan Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Social Workers, Nutritionist, Medical Assistants & Health Educators.  We the following services: Physical Examinations/Sports Participation Exams, Acute Illness Management (sick care), Chronic Illness Prevention Education and Management, Immunizations, Adolescent Risk Behavior Assessments and Health Counseling, Individual, Group and Family Counseling, Laboratory Tests, Referrals for Community Resources, Insurance Enrollment, Spanish Translation Services, Nutrition and Physical Activity Program, Dental Screenings and Treatment by Mobile Dentists, and A2 Tech’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC).  Stop by the clinic or read more on our website.

Options:  An evening On Line program (E2020) which was designed for students who are in need of credit recovery or if a course does not fit into their daily schedule.  The class meets Tuesday and Thursday, from 4:00pm-7:00pm.  Students are encouraged to work outside of class since the courses are available on the Web from any computer.

AAPS Adult Education GED Program:  This Ann Arbor Public Schools Adult Education program for adult learners 18 and older teaches students how to prepare for the GED test. Daytime and evening classes are free and meet for three hours twice weekly. Instruction covers the five GED test subjects of language arts, writing, math, social studies and science, and is offered in a comfortable and respectful learning environment. Open enrollment  takes place every Monday (when school is open) from 4 to 6 pm throughout the school year. Please arrive at A2 Tech High School by 4 and plan to be there until 6 pm for assessment and registration. Bring your driver’s license or state ID. Special Education:  Student Intervention and Support Services (SISS) is a department within the Ann Arbor Public Schools that consists of personnel who conduct assessments to determine a student’s eligibility for special education services, who develop individualized education plans, and provide necessary services to identified students as mandated by federal and state laws.  At A2 Tech High School, specialized instruction and consultation are provided by a variety of certified staff including a Teacher Consultant, Resource Room Teacher, Speech and Language Pathologist, School Psychologist, and School Social Worker to support identified students whose academic, language, and/or social, emotional, behavioral problems interfere with the students’ ability to progress in general education.

College Transition:  Designed to assist students in the transition from high school to college or vocational training. Helpful aid includes the following: college visits, scholarships, professional development, mentoring, FAFSA, and the STRIVE program (Washtenaw Community College scholarship and mentoring program with Rotary mentors).
