Fourth Grade Social Studies curriculum is under development for the 2010-2011 school year and will align with the State of Michigan GLCE focus, Regions of the United States.  The following text describes the Fourth Grade Social Studies curriculum for the 2009-2010 school year.

How has the geography of Michigan impacted people's lives?
How have individuals and Groups adapted to and modified the geography of Michigan?

The History of Michigan
How have events in the past affected Michigan?
How have decisions made in the past affected Michigan?
How has Michigan changed over time?

Michigan Government
How do laws affect the lives of young people?
What are the rights and responsibilities of Michigan citizens?
Why do we have local, state, and national governments?
