Snow Day School Closings

As winter approaches we would like to share with you how AAPS families will be notified of school closings due to poor weather conditions.

Depending on when bad weather hits we will always notify families through the Schoolmessenger system with an email and phone call to the primary number listed in PowerSchool. You will not receive this notification earlier then 6:00 a.m. If we are able to cancel school the evening before we will but generally assessment of the roads are done throughout the night in coordination with the WISD Transportation department and local law enforcement.

School closings will also be posted, usually by 5:00 a.m., on the district’s website, www.a2schools.org and the district’s hotline, 734.994-8684. Local radio and television stations are also notified around 5:00 a.m. including WUOM, WAAM, WEMU, WTKA, WKQI, and television channels, 2, 4 & 7.

To ensure that the correct email and phone number is listed in PowerSchool you can use your parent log-in and go to the “Update Contact” link. Your student’s school will have the parent log-in if you need it.
Here’s hoping for a safe and dry winter!
