Stadium Bridge Replacement Causing Street Closures; Detours Required

On Monday,  November 28, the two bridges over State Street between Main Street and South Industrial, will be closed for demolition and reconstruction for a year. On Monday, November 21st. the official groundbreaking ceremony was held to start the project. Congressman John Dingell, who was instrumental in lobbying for the IDEA and TIGER II funds for this important projects.
 
For Ann Arbor Public School families and staff it will mean a year-long inconvenience, especially attempting to go west and east on Stadium which will now be closed. Additional bus service has been put in place for the Pioneer students who normally walk to school from the Burns Park and S. Industrial Hwy. area. 
Bus 94 will pick up at Burns Park Elementary School at 7am and at S. Industrial Hwy. and Rosewood at 7:05am with return trips to these two stops after Pioneer's 6th hour.
 
As a reminder AAPS students do not have permission to cross between the University of Michigan Athletic fields off of State Street or the Ann Arbor Railroad tracks. The track crossing are potential dangerous and illegal. Recommended pedestrian and automobile detours for E. Stadium Blvd and S. State Street are below.
