This Week In the Ann Arbor Public Schools
June 21, 2010
This Week’s Good News!
- We have finished the 2009/2010 school year and have come to the final edition of this year’s “This Week in the Ann Arbor Public Schools.” We have a few more good news items to celebrate.
- The Pioneer baseball team, coached y Jerry Holley, won the state championship by defeating Saline High School 4-1.
- On June 21, students from Pioneer and Huron will fly to Tubingen, Germany, where they will attend classes for three weeks in the schools of Ann Arbor's sister city. The German students were here attending classes in May. This summer marks the forty-fifth year of such student exchanges. The program is led by Huron German teacher Andrew Smith and Pioneer German teacher Robert Lederer.
- Huron Social Studies teacher Dorothea Bryant has been awarded a fellowship by the Keizai Koho Center. This is quite an honor and she is very excited about representing the Ann Arbor community in Japan this summer along with teachers from across the United States.
- Pioneer Band teacher David Leach has been selected as the Teacher of the Year for band for District 12 by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.
- Thank you for all of your hard work this past school year. Best wishes for an enjoyable summer vacation.
