Pattengill Elementary School - Upper Elementary Grades 3-5

2012-2013 PATTENGILL SCHOOL HOURS: (9:03 AM – 3:57 PM/Half days 9:03 AM – Noon)

School hours are 9:03 AM -3:57 PM. Students may arrive at school no earlier than 8:45 AM since there is no supervision before that time. The only exceptions are those students enrolled in the School-Age Childcare Program.

SCHOOL OFFICE: The school office is open from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The telephone number is 734-994-1961 and is available for messages when no one is available to answer calls, or outside normal school hours. During the school day, the phone is available to students for urgent or emergency matters. All teachers have voicemail. You can leave a message if they are busy teaching, or before / after school by calling 994-1961 and following the prompt.

ATTENDANCE: If your child will be absent or tardy from school, please call the school office (734-994-1961) before 8:48 AM. There is voicemail available to record messages when the office is closed or when the staff is unavailable to answer the phone. Teachers take attendance each morning and afternoon. We are required to call and check on all children who are absent and whose families have not notified the office. If your child comes to school after 9:03 AM, please be sure she/he reports to the school office before going to class. As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to call the office.

Arrival/Dismissal: School begins at 8:48 am and ends at 3:42 pm. Students should not be dropped off prior to 8:30am unless they are signed up for Before/After-School Care. Likewise, students must be picked up at dismissal. Student pick-up is outside unless there is severe weather. At which point, parents should pick up their child in the gym.

Traffic: Our circular drive is reserved for busses only, please do not pull up or park in the circular drive when dropping off or picking up students. Also, please do not allow children to walk through the parking lot. With the changes in bussing, there will be many more vehicles at Bryant. Utilizing the pick-up/drop-off lane or parking and walking your child(ren) in the building are the safest ways to get in the school.

• If at any point, your child's normal dismissal routine changes, please communicate this to the teacher or call the office. We will not make any changes in your child’s dismissal routine without prior notice from you.
