It is an honor and privilege to serve as Assistant Principal of Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. I have the distinct pleasure of working alongside a community of highly committed families and staff, exceptional teachers, and bright and creative students.
Let me share a little bit about myself. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I am currently pursuing my second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I have been working in Ann Arbor Public Schools since I started my career in education. Although I’ve served on several leadership committees, both at the district and building level, my primary roles were as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at Bach Elementary School.
I am a firm believer in communication and collaboration. No one person has all of the answers, but working collaboratively, we may. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I also believe that trust, respect, and genuine relationships are critical elements to the success of schools and the achievement of students. Therefore, I genuinely work hard to build strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community leaders.
Serving students, families, and teachers in a greater capacity is a passion of mine, and I am excited to serve the King community in my role of Assistant Principal.
