About the PTO
Eberwhite has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) that meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Media Center. Free childcare is available during the meeting. The PTO works hard to support the school staff in making Eberwhite a great learning environment!

Get Involved
Parents and teachers are invited to get involved! In addition to participating in Scrip (the PTO's main fundraiser), we encourage parents and teachers to volunteer for PTO activites/committees and welcome them to attend PTO meetings. We also invite parents to consider helping out as a Room Parent or volunteering in the Lunch Room, Art Room, or Media Center.

PTO Funding
Eberwhite PTO contributes to the classrooms directly with stipends for teachers, which are used for supplies, field trips, and special projects. The PTO also contributes to a rich learning environment at Eberwhite by sponsoring events such as Math/Science Day, Mind Fair, Web Club, Science Olympiad, and special assemblies throughout the year. The PTO helps make Eberwhite a fun and safe place for our children to learn and grow through activities like our annual Ice Cream Social, Family Picnic, Decade Dance and Bake Sales. The PTO Grant Fund is available to PTO Members for large-scale grade or school-wide initiatives.

Fundraising
Most of the PTO's funds are raised through the Grocery Scrip program, where a percentage of money spent at local grocery stores goes directly to Eberwhite. Great Lakes Scrip extends the Scrip concept beyond groceries so that you can earn money for Eberwhite by using gift cards at other retail stores and gas stations. The PTO also sponsors other programs to raise funds such as the Scholastic Book Fair.  In addition, donations are always a welcome source of funds to contribute toward great programs for Eberwhite kids. Simply drop off a check made out to 'Eberwhite PTO' in the PTO drop box in the main office!

Communication
The PTO emails periodic announcements using AAPS's School Messenger. To ensure you are getting these emails, please update your contact information in your AAPS PowerSchool account. (Login information is sent home at the beginning of each school year.) Roots & Wings is the newsletter for Eberwhite, sponsored by the Eberwhite PTO. Downloads and instructions on how to submit information (articles or ads) are available online.
