Hello King families!  As we begin the new school year, I would like to take a moment and introduce myself.

My name is Amber Karkau and I am very excited to begin a new school year within the King community!  I grew up in the small town of Perry, Michigan.  I attended Lansing Community College and Baker College of Owosso.  I earned my Master’s Degree in Education from Graceland University.  

I previously taught fifth grade for the San Antonio Independent School District.  My husband, Patrick, works at the University of Michigan in the skilled trades department.  We have a son, August, who is entering Kindergarten this year.  We returned to Michigan so our son could grow up knowing his relatives and be a part of their lives.  

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine!  I am so excited to work with you and your child!  It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
