I grew up in Canton Michigan, and attended Plymouth Canton High School. After that, I went to Albion College where I earned a BA in theater. I was fortunate enough to work professionally in the musical theater field in New York, California, and on several touring productions. I returned to Michigan, and earned a MA in Elementary Education from the elMAC program at the University of Michigan. I was honored to teach 4th grade, 5th grade, and Reading Intervention for Wayne Westland Community Schools for 8 years. The fantastic work that AAPS was doing with IB learning really intrigued me. I am so excited to join the Mitchell School team this year. Our students are thinkers! They are so inquisitive, and eager to learn. I love every minute of helping my fabulous 4th graders learn and grow as inquirers.
When I am not at school, you will find me spending time with my family. I'm the very proud aunt of a brand new baby boy. I also enjoy reading, kayaking, traveling, and cooking. My dog, Louie, is my adventure buddy. We love to take long hikes and go on adventures together.
