Mrs. Yeh
你好!Ni Hao! My name is YuTing Yeh. I am from Taipei, Taiwan. This year will be my 7th year teaching in Ann Arbor Public Schools. Previously, I taught Chinese to foreign college students in Taiwan before I came to the United States in 2010. I’ve also taught Chinese at the K-12 level in the Detroit area for six years. I received my Master’s degree in teaching Chinese as a second language from National Taiwan Normal University and my Bachelor's degree is in elementary education. Being an educator of lifelong learning is always my calling. I believe that children can learn best when they are inspired and encouraged. In my Chinese class, students will not only be learning Chinese language, but also applying it in real world situations. I believe that learning a foreign language and using it to meet people around the world is one of the best ways to open our minds. I am so excited to take our students on this Chinese journey. My favorite book is Chocolatina because I like chocolate. But I don't want to turn myself into chocolate as Tina did. I don't want to be like her melting at the playground.
My favorite subject when I was in elementary school was art because I made a wood tissue box that we are still using in my parents' house.
