Welcome to kindergarten! My name is Krista Somers, and I am thrilled to be starting my fifth year at Carpenter as I enter my 23rd year of being an educator.

 

In our room, my motto is Be Kind Always. I believe kindergarten should be a magical place full of joy and wonder. I strive to ensure that every child feels important and accepted and discovers a passion for learning. It is my hope that this year your child will build the skills to become a kind, confident, and capable member of our community, here at Carpenter and well into the future.  

 

I have always wanted to be a teacher from a very early age, and after attending Dicken, Slauson, and Pioneer, From there I went to EMU where I graduated with my teaching degree and have taken many graduate level courses over the years. Throughout my career, I have taught almost every elementary grade, but kindergarten is my true love. 

 

I look forward to an exciting year!
