Ms. Brooks

I have been a nurse for 45 years having graduated first from St Clair County Community College, Port Huron then on to Madonna University, Livonia. I worked at the University of Michigan Medical center aka Michigan Medicine for 40 years.I worked 22 years in Pediatrics and 18 in Case Management. I retired after 40 years in 2018. Shortly after retirement I discovered that I had more to give. One of my dreams had always been to be a school nurse. I was blessed to be able to work before COVID and during the hybrid school year as a contingent. Last Fall I was offered a part time permanent position at Carpenter. I was so excited because my children attended Carpenter my first year in Ann Arbor, and I have always lived in this community. My first year at Carpenter was indeed a learning experience. But with that said despite all that was going on, it didn't take very long for me to feel very much at home and a part of the Cougar family!
On a personal level, I am the mother of 2 (one is deceased), the grandmother of 8, and the great-grandmother of 3. Most of them call me "GG". I enjoy traveling, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and music of all genres. The one thing people should know about me is that I love children. It is my goal to make sure that every child at Carpenter is well cared for and all of their medical needs are met whether it be a known medical need or something that occurs acutely. #happytobeaCarpenterCougar
