Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Webster is an Ann Arbor Public School alumna, having attended Angell Elementary, Clague Middle School and Huron High School. She has served the Ann Arbor Public School community for more than twenty-five years: ten years as a classroom teacher at Angell Elementary and ten years as an elementary principal at Pattengill and Logan, eight years as a District Administrator and beginning her third school year at Carpenter.
Dr. Terra Webster earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. She is a Culturally Relevant Teaching Scholar who earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Bachelor of Science and Social Science in Elementary Education, all three from Eastern Michigan University.
As an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion scholar, Dr. Webster has been an instrumental leader in the District’s equity work for more than 20 years. She has been a consultant and trainer on issues of racial and social justice. Dr. Webster presented at the Minority Student Achievement Network (MSAN) Conference in Washington, D.C. and Mr. Glenn Singleton’s Courageous Conversation Summit in New Orleans, Louisiana and San Francisco, California. Her mantra, “When addressing institutional racism, equity must be thee lens and not a lens.” Dr. Webster also serves on the City of Ann Arbor’s A2Equitable Engagement as a steering committee member.
Dr. Webster is excited to be back at the elementary level as Carpenter’s assistant principal.
