My Name is Celia Gargaro and it has been my privilege and pleasure to teach kindergarten at
Dicken Elementary School since 2010. I grew up living in many different places. I was born in
California and have lived in Japan, Singapore and New York. Ann Arbor has been my home for
more than 25 years. I am married to Paul and have three children: Sarah, 25; Nick, 23; and Sam,
20. We have a dog named Lola, and live in the Old West Side neighborhood, not far from
Dicken. I went to high school in Tokyo, Japan and graduated from Tufts University in Boston. I
earned my Teaching Certificate from Eastern Michigan University and my master’s degree in
Elementary Education from Marygrove College. I love teaching Kindergarten and being a part of
the Dicken Dolphin community!
