Some School Facts

Dicken Elementary first opened in 1957. The school was named after Carrie L. Dicken, principal of Perry School from 1902 until her retirement in 1934.
The Dicken Woods include a 10 acre park with footpath and boardwalk trails. We have access to it right from the grounds of Dicken School!

November, 2015. Sherri Hane, an educator at Dicken School is named 2016 Elementary Science Teacher of the Year by the Board of the Michigan Science Teacher's Association.
