Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Jeremy Schuitman

Mr. Jeremy Schuitman is excited to join the River Rats this fall as a mathematics teacher.  Most recently he has been teaching Honors Algebra II, AP Calculus, and Physics at Concordia International School Shanghai.  Mr. Schuitman and his family greatly enjoyed their experiences while living and traveling internationally, but it was time to come home and bring the kids closer to Grandma and Grandpa.

Mr. Schuitman is a proud graduate of Western Michigan University.  He holds professional certificates in both math and physics.  Mr. Schuitman attained a Masters degree in Sports Management from Western Michigan University.  He has enjoyed teaching and participating in AP training for Statistics, Calculus, and Physics. He looks forward to continue to attend classes, workshops, and other opportunities to improve as an educator.

Mr. Schuitman has coached and taught at five different schools including Battle Creek Central and Lakeview High School.  He has enjoyed building relationships and enjoying shared success with student athletes on the basketball court or running cross-country and track and field.  Mr. Schuitman truly believes that hard work and dedication on the athletic field leads to success not only in the classroom but also in life.

When he is not teaching Mr. Schuitman loves spending time with his girls and wife.  He is fortunate to have 3 girls who love to travel and be outdoors.  They love to run, ride, play softball, ski, camp, hike, climb, play volleyball, make slime, or just take our dog for a walk.  He cannot wait to get to know the students and parents and get involved in the River Rat community!
