B.A. with Honors in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan M.A. in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan Michigan Provisional Certificate in English, Secondary 6-12 (BA endorsement)

Ms. Kris Zager

Ms. Zager is an enthusiastic reader and writer who began teaching in 2011. Born and raised in southeast Michigan, Ms. Zager has had the opportunity to work with high schoolers in France, adolescents and adults in Atlanta, GA, and kindergartners and refugees in South Korea. She has also taught SAT/ACT preparation to high school students. After completing her student teaching at Huron High School in 2016-17, Ms. Zager knew she wanted to be part of the River Rat community long-term. 

Ms. Zager enjoys getting to know kids and guiding them as they grow into themselves as confident young adults, as well as imaginative and analytical readers and writers. She also loves working on speaking and listening skills and feels particularly happy when she is listening to a rousing persuasive speech, a courageous story, or a creative performance. Ms. Zager's other interests include kayaking, stories from The Moth, Korean dramas, coffee ice cream, library book sales, the Arb, and color-coded spreadsheets.
