    We will

    -begin a short poetry unit.  Students will begin brainstorming ideas for poems and plan and draft a poem of their own.

    -continue our Word Study topic, "Do we need laws to regulate behavior?"

    -continue a poetry genre study.

    -continue Math Unit 7.  Students will categorize polygons, collect and use fractional data, identify and visualize patterns, and work with rules, tables and graphs.

    -continue our Social Studies unit, "The American Revolution" and begin the next unit, "A New Nation."

    -continue our research project.  Students will continue publishing in Google Slides and will share their final products.

    -continue our Word Study topic, "How can the words and ideas of one person impact a community?" and begin our next topic, "Do we need laws to regulate behavior?"

    -continue a poetry genre study.

    -begin Math Unit 7.  Students will multiply mixed numbers and solve problems with rectangles with fractional side lengths. 

    -continue our Social Studies unit, "Road to Revolution" and begin our next unit, "The American Revolution."

    -continue our research project.  Students will continue publishing in Google Slides.

    -continue our Word Study topic, "How can the words and ideas of one person impact a community?"

    -continue a biography genre study.  Students wrote a reading response letter to someone at home.  Please be sure to read it over our break and respond if possible!  We will also begin a poetry genre study.

    -continue Math Unit 6.  Students will estimate their reaction times.  The review will be on Tuesday (4-3) and the assessments will be on Wednesday (4-4) and Thursday (4-5).

    -begin our Social Studies unit, "Road to Revolution."

    -begin our Word Study topic, "How can the words and ideas of one person impact a community?"

    -continue a biography genre study.  Students will write a reading response letter to someone at home.  Please be sure to read it over our break and respond if possible!

    -continue Math Unit 6.  Students will measure volume by displacement and divide decimals by whole numbers and by decimals.

    -continue our Social Studies unit, "Life in Colonial America".

    -continue Math Unit 6.  Students will work with line plots, apply volume concepts, measure volume by displacement, and estimate decimal products and quotients.

    -begin our next Social Studies unit, "Life in Colonial America".

    -continue our Word Study topic, "Why do communities have different ideas about what brings happiness?"

    -continue a historical fiction genre study and begin a biography genre study.

    -continue Math Unit 5.  Students will continue their assessments on Monday (3-5).  We will begin Math Unit 6.  Students will multiply and divide decimals by powers of 10, work with exponents, convert measurement in the metric system, and work with line plots.

    -finish our second Project Lead the Way unit.

    -continue Math Unit 5.  Students will divide fractions.  The review will be on Wednesday (2-28) and the assessments will be on Thursday (3-1) and Friday (3-2).

    -continue Math Unit 5.  Students will find equivalent fractions, solve multiplication number stories, and divide fractions.

    We will

    -continue our research project.  Because of the Snow Day on Friday (2-9), I have added some time in the classroom on Monday (2-12) for researching.  We will also begin the outline that day and finish it on Tuesday (2-13).  There was no time planned for writing on the other Snow Day on Wednesday (2-7).  The due dates for these 2 assignments have changed, but with the extra day added, the rest of the dates are the same.  We will begin drafting on Thursday (2-15).

    -Continue our Word Study topic, "The Power of Power:  What Do People Do to Get It?"

    -continue a historical fiction genre study.

    -continue Math Unit 5.  Students will find fractions of fractions, use area models for fraction multiplication, and understand an algorithm for fraction multiplication.

    We will

    -continue our research project.  Students chose a Space themed topic, wrote 10 questions and a working thesis statement for their topic, and are working on researching their questions.  Some students have not shown me all of their sources and need to make sure that they do that ASAP (see their goal sheets from this week to see if they need to do this).  Notes are due on Thursday (2-28) so that they can start an outline.

    -Continue our Word Study topic, "The Power of Power:  What Do People Do to Get It?"

    -continue Math Unit 5.  Students will connect fraction-of problems to multiplication, multiply fractions and whole numbers, find fractions of fractions, and use area models to multiply fractions.
