Here is what we will focus on next week:

We will spend the entire week getting to know each other, setting expectations, setting up the classroom, and learning classroom and school procedures!

There will not be any new lessons next week. Students will present their Social Studies projects and we will have a lot of special events!

We will continue our Reading unit, "Interpretive and Analytic Reading." Students will study poetry, thinking about how to intrepret themes and we will reflect and goal set.

We will work on improving our 3 writing units from this school year.

Math

We will continue our end-of-the-year review and assessment.

Social Studies

We will continue projects regarding Ann Arbor's Bicentennial or a persuasive essay about a current issue and how it is related to the constitution.

Science

There will be no Science lessons this week.

We will continue our Reading unit, "Interpretive and Analytic Reading." Students will study poetry, thinking about how to think metaphorically, identify symbolism, read fluently, and summarize analysis.

We will continue our word study program, "Morpheme Magic." Students will study the affix de-.

We will continue to write, read, and work on reading strategies and skills in small groups and complete Lexia.

Math

We will continue the unit, "Multiplication of Mixed Numbers; Geometry; Graphs." The review will be on Tuesday (5-28) and the assessment will be on Wednesday (5-29) and Thursday (5-30). On Friday, we will start our end-of-the-year review.

Social Studies

We will begin a project regarding Ann Arbor's Bicentennial. Students may also choose to work on a persuasive essay about a current issue and how it is related to the constitution.
