I was born and raised an Ann Arborite. As a Pioneer High School graduate I have a deep love for the city and our amazing public schools.

I attended Michigan State University where I earned a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Teaching and Curriculum. At times my love for my Spartans and my love for Ann Arbor conflicts but... Go Green!

Teaching math is my passion because I love learning along with my students. One of my favorite experiences in a classroom is when a student comes up with a method or idea that has never been thought of before. Math presents students the opportunity to use their experiences to uniquely approach a problem. Building off of students' experiences and fostering an environment where other students learn from each other is what I love about math classrooms!

When I am not teaching math I spend the summers teaching sailing at the University of Michigan's alumni family camp, Camp Michigania, in Boyne City, Michigan. I love spending time outside with my wife and my dogs, Lake and Lyla. We enjoy hiking, being on the water and adventuring!
