Degrees and Certifications:
It is a true honor to serve as assistant principal of Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary. I have been an educator in the Ann Arbor Public Schools for fifteen years teaching kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, and Reading Intervention at Angell and Thurston Elementary Schools. The 2018-19 school year marked a new chapter in my career as took on the role of assistant principal of King Elementary. I live here in Ann Arbor with my husband, who is also an educator, and our two energetic sons.
King’s reputation precedes itself as a thriving school with a dedicated staff, strong school spirit, and a highly involved parent community. It is a pleasure to work alongside Mrs. Cooper and the staff to continue to advance the achievements of the school. One of the highlights of my work is connecting with families and collaborating with the PTO in support of the wonderful work that they do to strengthen the King learning community.
It is my strong belief that students need to feel a sense of belonging and community in order to succeed. My top priority in this role is building relationships with each and every student. Having been a teacher for fifteen years, it is important for me to keep my finger on the pulse of the classroom and to support the fantastic teaching that is taking place. My door is always open and I look forward to our continued partnership.
Here's to a fantastic year ahead!
