AAPS Reimagine Learning Update
September 29thHello AAPS Students, Parents, Staff and Community,
We appreciate your understanding and support as we have launched this Fall, 2020 school year virtually. We recognize that this is a challenging time for everyone, and yet it is truly remarkable to see our students, teachers, staff and leaders connecting and engaging in learning in virtual classrooms across our AAPS learning community. I want to thank our students and staff for their impressive efforts to begin this virtual school year well; truly, we are learning together.
I appreciate all who have reached out directly to share your input and feedback as we work to improve the educational experience for our children during these early weeks of the school year. We will continue to refine and improve our processes and ask that you please share your feedback in a fall survey to be shared via email later this week.
We are excited to offer fall Rec & Ed classes, opportunities for our students to connect outdoors or virtually in fun activities, such as dance, soccer, yoga, karate, and tennis offered free for our students on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout this fall. You may learn more and sign up at aarecedonline.com
As we highlight in this Superintendent’s Video update for the week of September 28th (written synopsis here), we continue to work to ensure additional supports for our students who experience specialized learning needs and challenges, we share a more in-depth analysis of our COVID infection metrics and how we are responsibly planning for when we can safely move to a hybrid learning plan, as well as share answers to some of your Frequently Asked Questions that we have received over recent days. In addition, you can explore more detailed information, including the full Return to School Plan.
Thank you for your engagement, care and support of our students and staff, and of the Ann Arbor Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Jeanice K. Swift
