Course Information
Yoga is a physical education elective course (0.5 credit) with virtual instruction. This course does not meet the Personal Fitness graduation requirement.
Course Overview
Yoga is an ancient system of physical and mental exercise that links and integrates the mind, body, and breath. This course will focus on asana (posture), pranayama (breath control), and dhyana (meditation). The benefits of yoga include increased flexibility, calmness, strength, and stamina. By the end of the semester, students will develop a mindfulness journal, be able to create their own yoga sequence and build confidence to continue incorporating yoga into their daily lives outside of school.
