    Just a brief update...
    Athletes and Parents:
Spring Sports are here, 3-14-22. ALL Spring coaches info is on the athletic web page under their season! You can call the Athletic office or me.
    Good luck.
As we enter the next few weeks (through Spring Break), I want to touch on a few things.
ALL of our AAPS H&S guidelines are still in place. This includes wearing masks at all times while indoors, spectator limits (flexible to the activity/location/capacity) and indoor access restrictions, testing of non-vaccinated athletes/performers/participants, etc.
    1. Monday (3-14-22), all events that are indoors masks are required for all spectators still.
    2. As we end Winter and begin Spring, all non-vaccinated athletes will still need to test regularly. This requirement will remain in place through the end of the school year.
Thank you for your tireless work to balance H&S with offering our students and families meaningful experiences.

Some Winter and Fall updates. As we are approaching midway for Winter sports, please continue to monitor signs and symptoms at home with your athlete. If symptoms arise, please keep them out of practice and get tested either by the coach or go on your own to get a test and remain out till you have the testing results. Congratulations on finishing Semester one; it's crazy, we are halfway through the school year. Huron athletes have done very well with a low number of positive COVID cases among the Winter sports. It has taken a "village" to have around only 14 cases among our Winter athletic teams! With only a few cases here lately. Our coaches, players, school nurse, class office OP's, and parents have done a great job testing and quarantining fast to help keep the spread down.
For all Winter sports, we remain at a capacity cap at a hundred with only two family members per athlete at ALL home events. Please call the athletic office for updates or clarification (Athletic office- 734-994-2075). We will continue to monitor Winter grade checks; the next grade check will be 1-31-22.
    Spring Sports:

Due to the climbing numbers with COVID and the rapidly spreading variant, all HOME games will be limited from 60% capacity to only TWO family members per athlete now.  You will still have to buy your tickets on   The same rules will apply to the away teams as well.  We will check family members in through ticket purchase at the door and have a roster to work from to help keep track.  Gyms will be cleared after each level is played.  Sorry for any inconvenience, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

  • Fall 2021 Wrap-up

Posted by Tony Whiren on 12/6/2021
Congratulations to Huron women's swim and Dive team, standing last for Huron Fall athletics and representing an excellent finish at the 2021 State Finals, having many state placers and the team placing 15th.  This Fall, we had a great showing from our football team, nearly defeating the eventual 2021 state champions, Belleville Tigers, in post-season play.  Both men's soccer and women's field hockey played their hearts out into the district semi-finals, showing high promise for the 2022 season.  Congratulations to our Men and Women's cross-country teams on several accomplishments.  Our men's team brought home three first-place meets while being a very young team.  Congrats on ending the season strong.  Our women's x/c team, small, young, and fiery, did win some meets, winning many 9th and 10th-grade team meets. Having a 9th-grade lady runner qualify for the state meet and placing.  Coach sees big hopes for this young and growing team.
Men's tennis, our new head coach led our team to the State tournament on the courts and several match wins this year, ending the season ranked 6th.  Lots of promise for this team in the 2022 season. Excellent job to our Huron men's tennis team and the new coach.  Lastly, women's golf improved all-season, winning matches along the way.  Coach thinks with the youth and talent coming back, a run for the states could be in the near future.
Like to say congrats to our entire coaching staff that led these student-athletes all season and more, and to the athletes that worked so hard to represent Huron, their families, and our community in the highest manner.  Huron athletics has received many awards and accomplished many goals this Fall season.
We are now into the 21-22 Winter season with a full go.  All sports are up and running, with games being won already with women's basketball out the gait.  Please remember that all tickets will be bought through  Please note that all spectators will require masks when in the stands.  If one is eating or drinking mask may be down.  Athletes and coaches coaching will not be required to wear a mask while in play.  We (Huron) will follow each school district's requirements when on the road.  Please address all questions and concerns to me, Tony, for any updates as things are changing weekly.
