Academic Support


    • 826michigan Afterschool Tutoring (in-person)
      • Locations and Times:
        • Mondays at the Ypsilanti District Library on Michigan Avenue from 4-5:15pm and 5:30-6:45pm
        • Tuesdays at the 826michigan Office in downtown Ann Arbor (115 E. Liberty Street) from 4-5:15 and 5:30-6:45pm.
      • Students bring unfinished homework or school assignments to each session and are paired with volunteers in a safe, supportive, learning environment.
      • Through individualized support, students strengthen their academic engagement.
      • The individualized attention of volunteers improves students’ self confidence and encourages them to be socially invested in a community of learning.

    • 826michigan Virtual Writing Support
      • A weekly virtual writing program for students in elementary, middle school, and high school. Students work in small groups with peers and adult volunteers to brainstorm, write, revise, share, and publish original writing.
      • Weekly commitment and program registration is required at 826michigan.org.

    • End the Cycle: Offers K-12 Afterschool, GED, ACT/SAT Weekly Online Tutoring
      • Parents can sign up their students here: www.endthecycleatum.org/students 
      • As a reminder, this weekly tutoring is free, and does not require a commitment from students. Parents must simply check their email each week for the signup link.
      • Tutors are students from the University of Michigan
    • Brainfuse (through AADL) provides live online tutoring support, writing support, language support and more.
