My name is Krista Takacs and I am the coordinator for Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad (WESO) at A2 STEAM. Science Olympiad is an exciting competition where student teams participate in a variety of events involving subjects like engineering, math, biology, electronics, astronomy, programming, chemistry, and more. Science Olympiad is designed to foster critical thinking, cooperative learning and the transfer of conceptual knowledge to hands-on challenges. Science Olympiad is a volunteer led group. In order to be successful we will need parent involvement to act as coaches and volunteers on the day of the event. This year, the Science Olympiad competition will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
If you are interested in being a coach, but could not attend the meeting, please e-mail me at email@example.com and we can discuss the event you are interested in coaching. WESO hosts a meeting for coaches, which is scheduled for the evening of January 30, 2019 at Pioneer.
Please send your child to school with warm weather gear and LABEL it with their last name. (If your family needs assistance with getting cold weather items like gloves, snow pants, or boots, please talk to Stacey Szuszman or one of the principals.)
