We would love to have your support at lunchtime! No need to sign up in advance. 

As long as you fill out theAAPS background check form once a year, you are good to go.

 

You can come anytime that works for you and don't need to commit, just check in with the office and let them know you are here for lunchroom support. Here is the schedule:

YEARBOOK COVER ART CONTEST FOR LOGAN STUDENTS

CALLING ALL ARTISTS AT LOGAN!!

Create a cover for the Yearbook!

All you need to do is draw, color or paint an original artwork. Use a regular-sized paper, two sides, one for the front and one for the back.

Requirements:

Must be original artwork, no known characters or cartoons (to avoid licensing issues)

• On the front page must include "Logan Elementary School" and the year "2023-2024"
• Letter (8 1/2 x 11) regular piece of paper.
• Turn in your art to your teacher by November 15th.

Kids will vote for their favorite cover on Friday, November 17th

The winner will be the Cover of the Yearbook this year!

TOLEDO OPERA ON WHEELS

 

Toledo Opera on Wheels is coming to Logan on Friday November 3rd presenting “Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf”. The schoolwide concert is set for 2:15 pm and should be a wonderful experience for our students.

Join us for great family fun including:

This is an ALL OUTDOOR EVENT.                       (Costumes welcomed, but not required)  

      All games & dancing are FREE!  

We need about 50 volunteers on this day!

General tickets will be 2 for $1.00 and can be used as follows:

1 slice of Pizza - 2 tickets         1 bag of popcorn - 2 ticket

1 water/juice - 2 ticket

THEATRE CENTERS REQUESTS

Some items that are useful for dramatic play centers:

• Dress Up Clothes
• Character Hats (hard hats, crowns, various job hats, etc)
• Cars (Hot Wheels type)
• Dinosaurs
• Building blocks 
• Capes (velcro neck, not tie)
• Props (for every day or fantasy imagination: medical kits, wands, etc.)
• Foot/Kitchen items
• Puppets and/or beanie babies 
• A small, free standing puppet theater
• Bags/purses
• Play cash register or larger, table top calculator

As we are in full swing of conferences - the teacher's will be logging extra hours on November 6th doing a bulk of the conferences- please help show them we appreciate the extra time and attention they are providing to our community by providing some dinner!

LOGAN SPIRITWEAR

SEEKING DONATIONS OF PLANT SPLITS AND VOLUNTEER GARDENERS

Do you have an overgrown perennial or two in your garden? Split your plants for Logan!

The PTSO is seeking donations of splits from outdoor plants that would likely do well in the large, partially shaded bed between the west side of the school and Gretchen’s House.

A bin for donations will be available at the main school entrance from Tuesday, October 17 through 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 22.

Rain or shine, we’ll install the plants on Sunday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m. – volunteers welcome! Bring a shovel and gloves.

Note that we are not asking families to purchase plants. This is intended to be a no-cost effort to beautify the school grounds.

The Social Committee is looking for a few parents to help plan our Fall Social: Beats and Treats.

Our first meeting is Monday 10/9/23 at 4pm in the Lower El Centrum

We’re making good progress to goal, but we still NEED YOUR SUPPORT! 

• Only 43.0% students have participated with a donation

• Only 56.2% students have registered for the Logan Fun Run

DON’T FORGET:

• Employer Match – Login to Parent Dashboard to download employer match template letter.

• Our final donation date is 10/18/2023 11:59 PM.

• Families are welcome to come cheer for your child(ren). We hope to see you there!

Now that we are a few years into our deeper equity work, we want to take this time to connect as a community to talk about what is working well, what changes you have made, and what still feels hard. This meeting, and all general meetings, are open to all Ann Arbor community members. You do not need to be a part of your PTO to attend and we welcome all voices that have thoughts about how we can serve students and families better.
