You do not have to spend very much time with Mr. Smigell before he will tell you he has the best job in the world. Mr. Smigell has been in love with creating visual art his whole life. In undergraduate school he studied fine art and received a BFA in Photography and Painting from Wayne State University. Soon after finishing his degree, Mr. Smigell started working on his teacher certification at Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Smigell has been at Huron High School since 2003 and during this time he received an MA in Ceramics. Over the years Mr. Smigell has had the pleasure of teaching the Art and Design, Ceramics and Sculpture, Jewelry Design, and Drawing Painting and Printmaking classes. Mr. Smigell has also been the proud sponsor of the Huron Art Club since joining the Huron team.
