Ms. Nicole Nunlee
Ms. Nunlee knew early on that she wanted to be an educator. As a child, during every summer vacation, she would gather up her friends in the neighborhood and play school for hours. Her path to become a school counselor has included student teaching at Romulus High School, where she was later hired to teach standardized test prep. Ms. Nunlee has had extensive experience in the community from running Miller House, a transitional living program once housed at Ozone House to working with homeless families at SOS Crisis Center.
Ms. Nunlee has worked at Huron High School since 2014. She has served as co-advisor for Key Club and co-advisor for the Be The Change~Challenge Day Club. Ms. Nunlee served as lead counselor at Huron from 2019-2021 and heads part of the Equity Team at Huron. Education continues to be a love and passion for Ms. Nunlee. She relishes that her work as a school counselor requires an ever-expanding knowledge base that changes as the world changes. She delights in helping her River Rat students identify their passions and achieve their dreams. During the 2021-2022 school year, Ms. Nunlee had the privilege of being counselor to thirteen of twenty-one National Merit Semifinalists at Huron as well as counselor to Huron's ten Presidential Scholar candidates.
