Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Alivia Maus
Welcome to First Grade! My name is Alivia Maus pronouced Moss. I am excited to be your child's teacher this school year. First grade is an exciting year as children learn many new concepts and skills.
This is my fifth year at Dicken and teaching 1st grade. It is my fifteenth year in education. In my experiences I have been a Teaching Assistant, After School Program Coordinator, Substitute Teacher, Fourth Grade Teacher, Fifth Grade Teacher, and a Reading Intervention Teacher. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education focusing in Mathematics and Language Arts from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's of Science Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University.
My husband Brian and I both grew up in the Ann Arbor area and are very close to our families, we are very lucky to live within a few miles of both our parents. We live in Ypsilanti and have three children, Isabelle, Brennen, and Parker. Our oldest Isabelle is 8 and in the third grade, Brennen is 5 and in Kindergarten, and Parker is 3. Both Isabelle and Brennen attend school at Dicken. We love being Dicken Dolphins and part of this wonderful community. On the weekends you will find us on the soccer fields or attending basketball games with our kiddos. If you see us, stop and say hi. When we aren't attending our kids sporting events we enjoy U of M sports, working around the house, and spending time with our friends and family.
As a parent myself I know that you are sending me your most pride and joy each day. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to be your child’s teacher this year and be a part of their life. I promise to give my all to teach, inspire, motivate, and encourage your child each day. For more information and updates please use the Classroom Website.
Thank you for your commitment to your child's education and success.
