Mrs. Killewald
Dear Parents,
I am excited about teaching your child this school year and I look forward to meeting you soon. My name is Barbara Killewald and I will be teaching your child this year. I began teaching at Pittsfield Elementary in 1997 as their Title-One Teacher. I started teaching first grade in 2000, and have loved teaching this grade ever since.
I am married with an adult son and two grandchildren, one of which just received her driver’s license. It amazes me how she is getting older and I am staying the same age! I also have a 120-pound dog, named Dexter. Actually, I think that he is a horse with a personality disorder.
I have lived in Michigan for my entire life, and was raised in North-West Detroit. I currently live in Brighton.
I love to read and I try to teach this passion to my students. Learning and loving to read will help your child throughout their lives. I also like cooking when I have time. Teaching keeps me more than busy however.
My favorite vacation spot is Top Sail Island in North Carolina. I love sitting on the beach with several good books.
I look forward to not only teaching your child, but also to teach them to love learning for that, I believe, is the secret to success.
