Having grown up in an Egyptian American bicultural bilingual home, Hala Boles found her teaching passion to be with second language learners.  Prior to working in the field of English Language Learning with the Ann Arbor Public Schools, Mrs. Boles worked as a Curriculum Writer for the University of Michigan School of Education Arabic Language Bilingual Materials Development Center in the content areas of Science and Arabic Language Arts.

Since 2004, Mrs. Boles has enjoyed working as an EL teacher with many diverse second language learners and their families at Huron High School where she has served students from over 76 countries speaking 68 different languages.  Mrs. Boles serves as the International Friendship Club Advisor, the American Red Cross Club Advisor, and the Faculty sponsor for the annual Huron High School Multicultural Show.  Mrs. Boles is a member of the Ann Arbor Public Schools International Baccalaureate Advisory Committee. 

With over 25 years of EL experience, Mrs. Boles offers an inquiry based educational opportunity to a multilingual multicultural student population, and an enhanced inter content connected global learning experience for second language learners.  Mrs. Boles supports the work and mission informed by the International Baccalaureate to develop active, compassionate and lifelong learners, and fosters a distinctive set of learner attributes supported through the IB Learner Profile.
