Ms. Kristin Kubacki
Art Department Chair
Kristin Kubacki was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan before moving to Ann Arbor to attend The University of Michigan School of Art and Design. She fell in love with the vibrant and diverse Ann Arbor community, and has happily made Ann Arbor her home. Mrs. Kubacki began teaching Visual Art at Huron in 1999, and has been a proud River Rat ever since. She uses her art classes to teach students about creative problem solving, critical thinking, visual literacy, resilience, and personal reflection. Mrs. Kubacki especially enjoys the personal connections she makes with the students of Huron year after year. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Mrs. Kubacki has worked with Huron’s Art Club and the Queer/Straight Alliance, and she is the District Arts Advocacy coordinator. She is also a studio artist herself, with a focus on photography, collage, and photomontage.
