Mr. Carmen DiFranco
Mr. Carmelo DiFranco has been a special educator for 33 years. Before he began teaching, he worked with teenagers as a Youth Counselor at the Washtenaw Juvenile Detention Center. He began his teaching career in a program for students who were on the Autism Spectrum in Garden City, Michigan, and then taught in a self-contained program for emotionally impaired children in Monroe, Michigan. Mr. DiFranco began teaching at the high school level at Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan where he taught for 5 years before moving to Ann Arbor and Scarlett Middle School, where he taught for 14 years. He moved back to the high school level and began teaching at Huron High School in 2004 as a Teacher Consultant.
Mr. DiFranco received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Eastern Michigan University with certifications in the areas of teaching Emotionally Impaired, Learning Disabled, and received certification from Oakland University for teaching students on the Autistic Spectrum.
