Whether you are looking to fill learning gaps, enrichment, raise a grade, or take a course to get ahead, we have options for you. Students participating in A2 Virtual+ summer learning options appreciate the flexibility of learning when it suits them best.
A2 Virtual+ Secondary Summer Term
Summer 2023 No Cost Options – Retaking a Credit/No Credit Course
Students that received a grade of E, NC or W for a high school credit class, or a grade of NM for Math 7B. The course must have been taken during the 2022-2023 school year to be eligible for no cost. Courses that do not meet this requirement can be taken through our reduced cost option.Here are some things to consider before enrolling:
- Students may retake one of their scheduled courses free of charge.
- Courses taken are graded and must be completed in full during the summer window.
- Students should plan on a commitment of 15-20 hours of learning time per week.
- No extensions are offered for summer courses, so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.

Summer 2023 – Courses Offered for a Fee - Improving a Grade or Taking for the First Time
Students wishing to take any course to raise a grade, get ahead, or strengthen their skills, may do so during the summer term. These courses are open to any middle or high school student. In order to encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity, the district is offering these classes at a reduced fee for AAPS students.
Here are some things to consider before enrolling:
- Students may take a total of two courses during the summer term.
- Courses taken are graded and must be completed in full during the summer window.
- Students should plan on a commitment of 15-20 hours of learning time per week per course.
- No extensions are offered for summer courses, so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.

AAPS Student Summer 2023 Fee: $199/course
Non-AAPS Student Summer 2023 Fee: $299/course

Summer 2023 – Michigan Virtual Courses Offered for a Fee - Improving a Grade or Taking for the First Time
We are excited to be able to offer courses through our partnership with Michigan Virtual.
Here are some things to consider before enrolling:
- Courses are available starting May 19th.
- All students enrolled in Michigan Virtual courses will be assigned a mentor.
- Students should plan on a commitment of 10-15 hours of learning time per week per course.
- No extensions are offered for summer courses, so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.
Dates: May 19 – July 28
Enrollment Deadline to Add Course: June 30th at 3 pm
Completion Deadline: July 28 – No Extensions
Course Drop Period: 5 days after starting the course
AAPS Student Summer 2023 Fee: $299/course
Non-AAPS Student Summer 2023 Fee: $399/course
