Mrs. Jean Wilson
Jean Wilson grew up in Grand Haven, Michigan. She studied education with a focus on science and mathematics at the University of Michigan. Ms. Wilson taught eighth grade in a self contained classroom in Chicago Public Schools, then seventh grade science in Dexter, Michigan. She lives a little less than a mile from the school with her husband, Brian and three kids: Dominick, Amata and Felix.
While taking an extended leave from the classroom, Ms. Wilson finished a master’s degree in Educational Psychology at Eastern Michigan University. Her first job back in the classroom was a field instructor position at the University of Michigan. She also taught sixth and seventh grade science at Scarlett Middle School before coming to A2 STEAM at Northside to teach fourth grade and now sixth.
Ms. Wilson enjoys nature very much. Her favorite pastimes include biking with her husband and three kids, gardening and kayaking. Ms. Wilson is the Green Team leader at the school, and has a passion for sustainability. She also enjoys soccer and reading. Ms. Wilson is thrilled to be teaching sixth grade this year.
