This is a formal event, please dress accordingly. No shorts, sandals, or tennis shoes!  If wearing heels, low-heeled shoes are suggested.

    Graduate/Parent Advisory
With all the excitement and celebrations pertaining to graduation, we must be careful that student behavior does not disrupt Huron's school climate for the remainder of its students. Inappropriate behavior and student pranks will not be tolerated. Students in violation could lose the privilege of participating in senior activities, including walking at graduation, attending prom, or the all-night party. Parents, please discuss this with your students.

    Commencement Ceremony
Huron High School's Commencement Ceremony will be held at EMU's George Gervin GameAbove Center on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022. Graduates should arrive at 4:30 pm and proceed to the auxiliary gym. The processional will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.

    No tickets are required.

All guests should be seated no later than 5:45 pm before the processional begins. No parents or guests are permitted on the floor of EMU George Gervin GameAbove Center. All guests should remain seated until the final graduate has exited EMU George Gervin GameAbove Center at the end of the recessional. EMU will be opened for guests with special needs at 5:00 pm. An area is designed for guests with hearing impairment. Please have guests notify ushers upon arrival if this service is desired.

Programs will be distributed to graduates and guests at EMU George Gervin GameAbove Center on the evening of Graduation.

    Celebratory Atmosphere
Commencement is filled with excitement and tradition. It is a special time to share your achievements with your family, friends and Huron staff. So that all present may safely enjoy and fondly remember these commencement exercises, there will not be eating, drinking or smoking allowed. Toys and party favors of any kind - noisemakers, horns, beach balls, signs on poles, etc., will not be permitted. Please be respectful of each other. Huron and EMU security personnel have been advised to remove such items.

    Picture Taking
Parents and guests will not be permitted on the floor at EMU George Gervin GameAbove Center to photograph graduates. Security personnel have been advised not to permit parents and guests to enter the floor areas during the Commencement Ceremonies. A professional photographer will photograph each graduate receiving his/her diploma. Information regarding the purchase of these photos will be mailed to graduates directly from the photographer.

Students who have met all graduation requirements and have no outstanding or uncleared obligations will receive their well-deserved diploma at commencement (immediately following the ceremony). Graduates who do not pick up their diploma at commencement may pick up their diploma, if obligations are clear, in the Senior class office.
