Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Jessica Rodriguez. I’m an Ann Arbor native and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and an Early Childhood Endorsement. I lived out west for a number of years where my passion for working with children began, but eventually the Mitten State called me back. Before teaching 3rd grade, I taught at a private preschool and Kindergarten at Eberwhite. I’m currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Social Foundations of Education at EMU. This will be my fifth year teaching at Wines. I love my job, and I’m happy to be here! I believe the classroom starts with building and maintaining a strong sense of community, and I use Response Classroom approaches to teaching and connecting with my students. I live in Ann Arbor with my husband, my young daughter June, and our two rascally, mutt dogs. When I’m not at work, I love to be outdoors, walking, being active, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
