Clague Middle School has recently been designated as a "School to Watch"
by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform!
To achieve Schools to Watch designation, a middle school must demonstrate that it has met the following criteria:
"Clague Middle School is a wonderful place for middle grade youth to grow, learn, and explore. Students are happy and behave as learners. The climate of caring is obvious from the moment the students enter the building. Students are set-up for success with supports, prompts and encouragement. Classrooms had clear learning objectives. The building is spacious providing ample space for special needs. Minimal class time is spent dealing with discipline issues and everyone understands that there is a focus on learning." --Quote from Schools to Watch report
Students, if you or someone you know is being bullied or harassed you can send a confidential email to email@example.com. All reports will be kept confidential, be investigated and taken seriously.__________________________________________________________________________________

The Clague Equity Team is organizing the Clague Middle School MLK Day assembly, which will take place on the morning of Wednesday, January 15th.
Our goal for this assembly is to keep Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's dreams alive by working to create and sustain unity in our Clague community and beyond. This is why, for this year's assembly we have chosen the theme "Our Dreams Unite Us".
We are looking for performers of music, speeches, songs, dance, poetry, readings or skits that support our theme "Our Dreams Unite Us".
Please see Mrs. Nordstrom in room 133 for a permission slip and audition information. All permission slips must be completed and turned in by Thursday, December 12th.
Auditions will be held during the week of Dec. 16-20th. The week before winter break.
Quarter One Honor Roll . . . Recognition pins with be distributed over the next few weeks during the noon hour to all students who earned all A grades or all A and B grades for the first quarter. 6th grade students or students who are new to Clague this year will also receive a lanyard that is traditionally used to hold the pins earned for 6th through 8th grade honor roll recognition. Any student who has questions about honor roll status or receiving pins & lanyards may contact his/her counselor. There will be a list posted near the main office.
SO THERE'S A NEW DAY
This year, STAND, the Clague recycling team, will continue to recycle in the cafeteria. Every day after lunch, STAND volunteers sort recyclable items out of the trash. You can help by rememberingto recycle items such as empty bottles and cans instead of throwing them away. If you are a 6th or 7th grader interested in volunteering, please meet today by the cafeteria drinking fountain when your grade goes outside after lunch.
As many of you know, STAND volunteers sort recyclables out of the trash and into the recycling bins every day after lunch.
There are two compost bins in the cafereria where you can put any fruit and vegetable scraps leftover from lunch.
