Mrs. Fisher

I am formally known as Millicent Fisher.  My nickname is Millie.  I have been a teacher at Wines Elementary School since September 1999.  Although I currently teach fourth grade, I have also taught second grade and third grade.

I have lived in Ann Arbor since 1982, when I was a student at the University of Michigan.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1986.  After spending more than a decade in the corporate sector, I returned to the University of Michigan and received a Master of Arts in Education degree in 1998.

I love to teach! I could talk endlessly about just how much I love my job.  However, anyone who knows me well knows that I love to chat about practically anything.  I have plenty to say about many things I love.  I especially love my family (which includes my amazing son), friends, sports, and SpongeBob Squarepants!

Ms. Puente

Hi, my name is Jennifer Puente, and this will be my first year in fourth grade, and my first year at Wines.  I grew up in Ann Arbor, attending Eberwhite, Slauson, and Pioneer, before receiving my first bachelor’s from the University of Michigan.  While pursuing a master’s in Physical Therapy, and working as a special education TA, I fell in love with being in the classroom and changed course.  I returned to U of M to pursue a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and later received my master’s in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from EMU.  I feel very fortunate to be able to say that I love what I do.

When I’m not in the classroom, I am usually on the sidelines of a soccer game watching my daughter play.  I also enjoy walking my dogs, attending U of M athletic events, and I always have at least one book in progress on my Kindle, or library book on my nightstand.
