Special Traffic Note 2014-2015:A note from Michael G. Nearing, P.E., Senior Project Manager, Project Management Services Unit with the City of Ann Arbor: The City will be beginning on the Stone School Road
Reconstruction Project from I-94 to Ellsworth Road beginning in early September, 2014. The project will include the complete reconstruction of Stone School Road along with underground utility replacement, the addition of sidewalk, storm water improvements, and other related work. The construction will begin this fall, shutdown during the winter, then resume again in the spring and be completed by the end of August 2015.
In order to perform the planned work, it will be necessary to close half the roadway and maintain one lane of traffic. We will be maintaining one lane of traffic northbound along Stone School and detouring southbound traffic. The detour planned route(s) are shown on the attached drawing. We will be maintaining access at all times along Champagne (the street that leads from Stone School Road to Bryant Elementary School) during all phases of our project. I would also note that during the winter shutdown, Stone School Road will be re-opened to two-way traffic and when construction resumes again in Spring 2015, the detour routes will be re-established.
Traffic: Our circular drive is reserved for busses only, please do not pull up or park in the circular drive when dropping off or picking up students. Also, please do not allow children to walk through the parking lot. With the changes in bussing, there will be many more vehicles at Bryant. Utilizing the pick-up/drop-off lane or parking and walking your child(ren) in the building are the safest ways to get in the school.
- If at any point, your child's normal dismissal routine changes, please communicate this to the teacher or call the office. We will not make any changes in your child’s dismissal routine without prior notice from you.
