Philharmonic Orchestra is a beginning orchestra that will be exploring pieces from all musical genres.  This ensemble will learn all two octave scales up to four sharps and four flats along with relative minor scales.  Students will be working on grade three music and above along with experimenting with improvisation and composition.  At the conclusion of the school year students will have composed a 16 measure rhythmic and melodic composition that they will teach and conduct for the class.  Students will have the opportunity to perform in concerts at Skyline High School consisting of a Fall concert, Winter concert, and others.  Students will perform in the MSBOA orchestra festival, solo and ensemble festival, Ann Arbor school distirct orchestra night at Hill Auditorium, and events in the area.  Students will also have the opportunity to perform the National Anthem at home events and help plan and implement a successful and informative Music in Our Schools Month.
