Mr. Carpenter has a teaching degree from Western Michigan University in History and Social Sciences and a Masters Degree in Social Foundations of Education with a focus in Multicultural and Eco-justice Education. Previous to the Ann Arbor Public Schools he has taught at COPE, and in Willow Run.  While at Growing Hope he advised the state on how to teach nutrition through gardening.  His students at Clemente published two books with the help of 826 Michigan and participated in Jazzistry with Vincent York.  He is hoping to continue the cycling club he started at Clemente and to offer students a variety of opportunities to find success.
