Adult Tennis Program
We offer tennis year-round, with something for everyone -- from beginners to advanced players.Instructional Classes are offered outdoors in spring, summer and fall at Pioneer High School, Huron High School, and Clague Middle School at the following levels: Beginner (NTRP 2.0) , Advanced Beginner (NTRP 2.5-3.0) and Intermediate (NTRP 3.0 - 3.5)Adult Clinics (NTRP 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 + up) are offered at UM Varsity Tennis Center and Chippewa Club in the fall, winter and spring sessions.
Cardio Tennis (NTRP 3.0 and higher*) Stay fit hitting hundreds of (yellow) balls in this fun, fast-paced, high intensity, aerobic tennis workout. Recommended for players with full range of mobility. Instructor determines if players’s level and mobility are appropriate during the first class. No beginners please. Cardio Tennis “Blast!” (Beginner - Advanced)Have a blast getting fit, moving and grooving to music, and hitting hundreds of balls! Using Cardio balls (red and orange tennis balls) equalizes the playing field and ensures a great workout. In classes of 6-8 people most women burn 300 to 500 calories per hour and men burn between 500 to 1,000. Not only are you getting a great workout, but you are also learning/improving a whole range of tennis skills.
USTA Summer Leagues Teams Rec & Ed Men's and Women's Adult USTA League Teams are run every summer. We offer teams at levels 2.5-4.5 as well as mixed doubles teams, 6.0-9.0 levels. We offer 18 & over and 40 & over teams. (See our Adult League page.)What are the characteristics of NTRP Playing Levels?
