    The Ann Arbor Public School District offers a variety of summer programs. Many of the programs are designed for students who would benefit from added educational support during the summer months.

  • Extended School Year (ESY) Services at King Elementary

    Who Can Enroll:
    Currently enrolled K-12 Special Education students with IEPs who are found eligible for services.
    When is the session:
    July 2-July 27
     (no class July 4)
    Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
    Where: King Elementary School

    Who Can Enroll:
    Title I eligible students currently in 5th, 6th, & 7th grade who are recommended by administration from the following schools: Allen, Burns Park, Carpenter, Mitchell, Pattengill, Pittsfield and Scarlett
    What is Being Taught:
    Targeted reading, math and writing
    When is the session:
    July 9-July 27
    Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

    • Parent Orientation: May 30, 6:00 pm at Scarlett
    • End of Program Celebration: July 26, 6:00-8:00 pm

  • Summer ESL Academy at Scarlett

    SESLA, AAPS & UM School of Education Partnership

    Who Can Enroll:
    Title III eligible English Learner (EL) students currently in grades 3-7. EL students from the following schools may attend: Allen, Mitchell, Carpenter, Pittsfield, Dicken, Lakewood, Lawton, Abbot, Haisley, Wines, Burns Park, Angell, Pattengill, Scarlett and Tappan.
    What is Being Taught:
    Reading, writing and speaking English through an integrated science/social studies curriculum.

    When is the session:
    July 9-July 27
    Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

    Includes breakfast and lunch.

    • Parent Orientation: May 30, 6:00 pm at Scarlett
    • End of Program Celebration: July 26, 5:00-8:00 pm

    EL at Thurston

    Who Can Enroll: Title III eligible English Learner (EL) students currently enrolled in grades 3-5 at Logan, Thurston, King, and A2 STEAM.
    When is the session:
    June 18-June 29
    9:00 am – 12:00 pm

    What is Being Taught:
    EL program with a science theme. The program partners with Leslie Science Center for daily science lessons and activities.

    EL at Clague

    Who Can Enroll:
    Title III eligible English Learner (EL) students currently enrolled in grades 5-8 from Clague, Forsythe, A2 STEAM and Slauson attendance areas.

    When is the session:
    June 21-July 12
     (no class July 4,5,6)

    9:00 am – 3:00 pm
    What is Being Taught:
    EL program concentrates on reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, social studies and science. Courses will include special projects.

  • Summer Music Program

    Who Can Enroll:
    All levels of instrumental music students, current grades 5-11

    What is being offered: Band, Drumline, Jazz, Orchestra, and New Instrument class
    When is the session:
    June 28-July 26

    Summer GED Preparation Class

    Who Can Enroll:
    Anyone can enroll – you do not need to be a resident of Ann Arbor to participate

    When is the session:
    Class begins July 9
    Monday and Wednesday, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm

    Where: Malletts Creek Library, 3090 E. Eisenhower Pkwy
    Fee: All classes and testing are free; $15 deposit for textbook

    Pathways to Success Academic Campus Summer

    The summer High School Completion program will be held June 26- August 3. Classes will be held at the Pathways to Success Academic Campus from 11:30 am-2:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Registration is on June 21 (10:00 am-12:00 pm) and June 22 (12:00 pm-2:00 pm). Classes are $150 per class; limited scholarships are available.

    The Pathways to Success Summer School and Leadership Academy will be held from June 26-August 3. Classes will be held at the Pathways to Success Academic Campus, 8:00 am-12:00 pm; lunch will be provided.
