    Our Yoga program offers something for everyone. Each class has a physical activity level rating, so it's easy to pick the class that is right for you. Our Yoga classes offer a stress free environment to improve your well being. All of our instructors are certified and ready and willing to meet your personal needs.

    Victoria Cendrowski has been teaching many forms of dance, fitness and yoga since 1971. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance from Eastern Michigan University, along with a Teacher’s certification. Victoria earned her Master of Education in Science of Human Movement with an emphasis in Personal Training from Wayne State University. Her professional career includes Dance Program Director, K-12 Physical Education Teacher, Wellness Trainer and producer of her own Yoga Pilates videos. Victoria has been working for Rec & Ed since 1990. Her passion is to create community through health and wellness.

    Chelsea Cendrowski has been doing yoga all her life. She is certified through YogaFit and has had extensive training in yoga therapy with an emphasis on trauma, anxiety, depression and grief. She began teaching Yoga Pilates Flow in 2009, created Karma Yoga in 2010 and began teaching Yoga for Emotional Healing in 2017. Chelsea believes in carrying your yoga practice off the mat and into the world and taking the patience, dedication, and compassion into your day to day life. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan and works as an RN at Michigan Medicine. She is also a volunteer at SafeHouse Center on their Response Team working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.

    Natalie Berry started practicing yoga in 2008 and is a certified yoga teacher through A2 Yoga. Her Bachelor's in Fine Arts is from Eastern Michigan University. Natalie is a playful, energetic, vegan yogini and artist, who uses the creative power of yoga and art to make a more peaceful environment for herself and others. She looks is currently teaching Story Time Yoga and Kid Yoga for Rec & Ed.

    Victoria Duranona has more than 500 hours of yoga training and has been teaching since 1997. Her classes are known for being energizing and fun. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Victoria is known for her ability to establish a connection with students of all levels and for adapting the class to the needs of each individual. When she is not teaching yoga, Victoria spends time with her family, dogs and rabbits at their home in Ann Arbor. She is studying toward her black belt in Tae Kwon Do, is an active gardener and vegetarian cook.

    Laurel Fingerle, a native Ann Arborite, has practiced yoga for over two decades. She received her yoga teaching certification in 2010 and has been teaching yoga ever since. A former public school teacher, mother of 3 and avid tennis player and golfer, Laurel is committed to accessible yoga for everyone. Laurel currently teaches Therapeutic Yoga for Rec & Ed.

    Carl Gunderson has practiced yoga since 2004 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2008 through YogaFit.  Mr. Gunderson holds a BS in Communications from Michigan State University. He is also an ACE certified Personal Trainer, runs his own business, Simply Holistic Fitness, and has a passion for wellness.  Carl is currently teaching AAPS Staff Yoga for Rec & Ed.

    Emma Hadden has a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies from Columbia College Chicago, as well as a Child Development Certificate from Washtenaw Community College, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. She has worked as a preschool and toddler teacher since 2012. She incorporates yoga and mindfulness into her classroom to help children with social and emotional control issues. She is passionate about bringing yoga and other mindful movements to children to help them gain body awareness and skills for self regulation. Emma is excited to teach yoga through Rec & Ed.

    Jeanne Hagadone felt inspired by the wonderful way she felt doing yoga and knew she wanted to share the gifts of yoga with others. Jeanne completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher training in 2012 from the Yoga Center in Brighton, Michigan. Since then Jeanne has been delighting in sharing the positive and healthy effects of yoga with her students. She continues to study, learning through books, additional trainings, other instructors, her students, and her own experience. Jeanne whole heartedly believes that yoga can be a beneficial, fun, and empowering part of anyone's life

     Nancy Herlocher
    Nancy Herlocher  has practiced yoga since it was introduced to her as a grief tool at the age of 13. That led her to became a certified yoga teacher through YogaFit. Nancy shares yoga with children and adults so they can be better equipped to face the challenges of life from a positive place. She holds a Bachelors of Science from Pennsylvania State University and works full time as a Research Consultant at The University of Michigan.  She is currently teaching Kid Yoga for Rec & Ed.

    C Hocking


    Cinda Hocking is an experienced social worker/counselor who specializes in mindfulness, stress reduction and relaxation training.  She received her Masters in Social Work form U of M. Her involvement in martial arts principles and practice led her to yoga. Cinda has been a yoga practitioner since 2011 and became a certified yoga instructor in 2014.  She enjoys helping students learn tools and techniques that enrich and empower their life experience. Cinda currently manages an integrative primary care office at U of M.

    Shay Maxwell started practicing yoga in 1990, certified to teach through the Center for Yoga and has been teaching since 1999. She is also a certified massage therapist.  Shay is a mother of 3 with a passionate, creative, fun and simple approach to sharing yoga with children of all ages. Ms. Maxwell is currently teaching Kid Yoga and Prenatal Yoga.

     JT Quon has practiced yoga since 1998 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2006 through Frog Lotus Yoga. She holds a BS in Elementary Education and a BA in Geography from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Masters in Education from the City College of New York in Transformative Literacy where she researched the benefits of kid yoga within the classroom. JT is currently teaching for Rec & Ed’s Youth Yoga program.

    David Rosenberg is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor teaching since 1993 and traveled to Pune, India in 1996 to study from the Iyengar family. He gives individualized attention to help students learn yoga with provided props so all levels of students can do yoga with safe and careful alignment. His class focus is on flexibility, balance, endurance, strength as well as relaxation through mediation. David has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Binghamton University graduating Phi Beta Kappa,and M.S. in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.

    Vicki Schmitz began practicing yoga in 2001. She earned her 200 hour yoga teaching certification in 2012 from The Yoga Center for Healthy Living and received her Yoga Gangsters Outreach & At-Risk Certification in 2014. Vicki's desire to utilize yoga to address the symptoms of trauma inspired her to found One Tribe Yoga & Outreach, a non-profit dedicated to offering unity, empowerment, and peace to those who need it most. A former editor and science teacher, Vicki is a humor writer, avid rock collector, and loves being outdoors. She has a B.A. in Writing and an A.S. in Geology from Colorado Mesa University.

    Dominique Theophilus is a certified yoga teacher through the Center for Yoga.  Ms. Theophilus’ goal is to use yoga as a public service in the community.  She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampton University and is currently working for Cleary University as a Rental Coordinator.  Dominique is currently teaching for Rec & Ed’s Youth Yoga program and Paddleboard Yoga.
