Mrs. Sara Badalamente
Mrs. Badalamente (formally O'Connor) joined the Huron staff in 2015. She spent the first eight years of her career at Grand Ledge High School. She advises the award-winning newspaper (The Emery) and yearbook (The Enthymion) Badalamente earned her degrees in both English and Journalism at Michigan State University. She earned her master's in Journalism from MSU in 2010. In the spring of 2015, she was named one of the winners of the American Society of News Editors' First Amendment Challenge for her innovative lesson plans on the First Amendment. She was named a "Rising Star" by the Journalism Education Association in 2011. And she received the Golden Pen award in 2021. Badalamente worked on her high school newspaper, The State News at MSU, The Novi News, and The Midland Daily News. Her hobbies include reading, running, biking, playing soccer, and enjoying her family. She is the Director of Michigan Interscholastic Press Association's summer journalism workshop at Michigan State University. She and her husband Ben are the proud parents of Francis, Thomas, and Matthew.
