Ms. Kristie King-Freyre

Kristie King-Freyre is new to Huron and excited to be a part of the IB program. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in the Teaching of Writing from Eastern Michigan University. She has over two decades of experience teaching English in various settings. She began teaching at the college level, instructing Composition at Washtenaw Community College, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of Michigan—Dearborn. She then taught English at the high school level in Ironwood, Michigan, at the same high school that she graduated from. She went on to work in Hudson, Michigan, where she coached debate and forensics. For the last seventeen years, she has been teaching in Ann Arbor at Central Academy. There she taught middle school and high school and was involved in many extra-curricular activities. She is passionate about working with young adults both in and out of the classroom. She feels truly fortunate to do something that she loves every day!
