Ms. Alison Eberts
Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, Ms. Eberts attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette where she majored in English with a minor in History, and completed her Master's Degree in Literacy Instruction through Michigan State University. Ms. Eberts knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher, and was eager for a setting that would be challenging and rewarding. In the fall of 2012, she student taught at Huron High School (where her mother graduated in 1979) with Sarah Andrew-Vaughan. She graduated in December 2012, and returned to Huron that spring as a long term substitute for Aimee Grant. Ms. Eberts taught high school and middle school English in Warren Consolidated Schools for the 2013-2014 school year, before returning to Huron as a full time employee in fall 2014.
Ms. Eberts has found her home at Huron, and loves the students and staff she works with. The joy Ms. Eberts gets from teaching is indescribable; she is happy to be part of a caring community of teachers at Huron. Ms. Eberts also runs poetry club, Model United Nations, the class of 2021 executive board, and is an assistant coach for Huron’s women’s’ cross country team. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Eberts enjoys reading, running, traveling, and hanging out with her cat Eddie.
